Congragulations, Sweetie Belle. On my opinion, you're the new Olaf. Think about it;

They're both cute, small, and funny, and a bit clueless at times. They also have goals; Olaf's goal is to see what summer is like, Sweetie Belle's goal is to get her cutiemark. Plus, they can sing. :)

"A vector is a type of digital image built from shapes instead of pixels, which can be scaled indefinitely and modified without loss of quality." thats basically the textbook definition. :D

Maybe that's because I haven't uploaded my originals yet. Maybe I actually want them to look good when I submit them to Deviantart?

I spend a good amount of time my vectors, and I always add a little bit of myself into them, even if they are from other people's sketches. Maybe a style that I do, or a particular way I shade. I make mine as a learning experience, and also because that's what I am good at, high quality, show accurate vectors. And I try to teach others how to vector in a similar way so they can vector their own sketches in exactly the same kind of quality.

And as you said before : "I don't put a lot of effort in my "art" because I don't have the time." That is hardly a excuse at all, in fact it makes your case worse. If your not even going to try, why even bother uploading it? Why want people to know you only for making half-assed art?

If you don't like vectors, fine, that's your opinion, but don't discredit people for at least trying to make their MLP art show accurate, even more so when it's only for practice for future projects. Plus I don't really give a damn what you think about me or my vectors, but I do give a damn when you deem it right to only insult other peoples vectors, and not even give a reason as to why you don't like it. Yeah that helps the artist grow and feel more confident in what they are making. Totally.

I didn't say it was bad. I was refering to the fact that if you actually tried, you would have a lot more, and your opinion would be a sound one, instead of sounding like a plain insult. Do you see what I mean?

Thats not a fair statement at all. A lot of pony vector artists use screen-cap vectors as a way of practicing and improving consistantcy in their own original artwork. What makes you think this particular artist is no different?

Maybe you should turn your statement around and consider your own work the same way. Btw your vectors have more errors than I can count, while this one only has a few.

Next time you say something like this, maybe consider how it will make the artist feel, even more so if they are just starting to learn the program in order to make their own art...

Excuses, excuses . . .

And who exactly are you to determine what constitutes a waste of time, eh? I've seen your work. It's hardly anything to write home about, or original for that matter. At least this artist tried to match the show's style so they can be more accurate in the future.

Your pony-related "art" looks like you spent maybe five minutes studying references and ten minutes on the actual work, regardless of how long it actually took.

Maybe you should try some real art before you criticize other people for trying to emulate the show's style. At least then you would have a leg to stand on.

I actually put most effort in my old ones.
Like these ones: [link] [link] [link] and the sheamus one even though that one is pretty new.

And I'm better at drawing with my hand than with my mouse. I have a lot of art I've put a lot of effort into... I just haven't uploaded it. I can upload it if you want...

It would be prudent of you to upload them. Bad-mouthing people's work on dA without justification is tantamount to trolling (though that Spiderman 3 drawing isn't half bad).

You still don't have much of a case for vector work being effortless just because it's a tracing. For one thing, you don't know it's a trace. A lot of vectors are complete works, even though the frame used as a reference is incomplete. Also, the artist must be able to know what line weight to use, how to blend them with each other, and many other technical details even if they are copying a frame from the show, because without that the drawing would not look right. Finally, building up muscle memory by tracing is a good habit because it gives you the ability to draw original pony work without having to spend much time practicing. All the motions are in your brain, so with one or two tracings you'd be able to draw any number of ponies without having to spend time studying proportion.

I've seen you dissing people's work before on dA, though. I don't care who you are or where you come from: the only time negative comments are good are when you are offering constructive criticism. For instance, I would definitely work on cleaning up my lines if I were you, because the sketchy nature clashes with the tonal quality of the Spiderman piece. This is of course just my opinion, but it is an informed one (two years of collegiate art classes alongside my engineering classes).

However, would you learn anything or even listen to me if I went on your pages and just said stuff like, "This sucks! I can't believe you thought you could draw Spidey and have it look right!"? Of course not. That's why I don't do it. It's not helpful and would just ruin my own reputation because people generally don't like seeing other people bad-mouthing hard work.

It would behoove you to consider this next time you decide to post a snide remark about other people's work.

You're using too many advanced english words for me to understand you...

And I've never really said a thing like "this sucks ass" or anything like that.
And most of my criticism isn't very much "hating"...
If I think something is really bad, like an oc made in pony creator, I get kinda pissed. But I'm doing my best to "contain" myself.
And I don't actually give a damn if someone personally comments something negative on my art.

30% of my watchers hated me first.

Really? I'm a 14-hour-per-week university student studying mechanical engineering who is holding down two jobs, a side business doing model building commissions, volunteer work for Engineers Without Borders in the form of being senior draftsman as well as the team concept artist for our project in Guatemala, and a song leader in my church, and I can still come up with quality artwork like this [link] and this [link] because I do it a little at a time until it looks right, spending maybe a half hour to an hour per day on a piece.

It is an excuse, nothing more, because I know for a fact that anyone can turn out quality work and be quite busy at the same time.
